Grounded in Community: Coffee 5K Run/Walk- October 17th, 2026
Join us for the Grounded in Community–Coffee Run/Walk 5K, a fun, family-friendly event focused on investing in our children and our community.
Proceeds from the event will help fund the development of the Appleby Lookout, a new community gathering and outdoor learning space at Westby Elementary School. The Appleby Lookout will provide a welcoming place for students, families, and community members to gather, learn, explore, and connect.
This project is being developed through a collaboration between Westby Elementary School IMPACT (Interested and Motivated Parents and Community Together) and community partners who believe in creating meaningful spaces for our children to learn and our community to come together.
Whether you’re running for a personal best, walking with friends and family, or simply coming out to enjoy a cup of coffee and support a great cause, we invite you to be part of the day.
5K Run/Walk
The 5K begins at 9:30 AM.
Your registration includes:
- One event T-shirt with preregistration by September 24
- One espresso coffee drink of your choice from the BrewMobile
- Free face painting, generously donated by Terri Kotek
- One decorated sugar cookie per child
- Awards
- Professional race timing by Race Day Events
Enjoy your coffee while you walk or run, or save it for after you cross the finish line.
Kids Race
The Kids Race begins at 9:00 AM.
Children can participate in the run/walk for free, or registration is $15 if you would like your child to receive an event T-shirt.
It’s a great way to get the whole family involved in a morning centered around fun, community, and giving back.
Keep the Celebration Going
After the run/walk, join us at Birchpoint Distillery for a post-event gathering.
Spend some time together, celebrate your accomplishments, and continue supporting a great cause. Birchpoint Distillery will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the gathering back to the cause, making it another opportunity to support the Appleby Lookout project while enjoying time with friends, family, and neighbors.
